I thoroughly enjoyed last year’s NCBC conference in Chicago. This was my first trip to the Windy City, and I absolutely loved all that Chicago had to offer. From the beautiful architecture of downtown’s skyscrapers, to the peaceful stream of the Chicago River, the city has many places to explore.
The conference was held at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, which I thought was a prime location. Some of the breakout sessions I attended this year were “Instantly Improve your Memory,” “The Power of Empathy: The New Superpower,” and “National Update of NextGen Implementation Effort & Development Effort Going Forward.” I was also a participant in this year’s NCBC LEAD Academy Pilot Program. Shout out to Sandy Smith and the committee for doing such a great job on putting the program materials and presentation together. I encourage everyone to apply in the future. This year I also graduated from the MSU Judicial Administration program and was presented with my certificate of completion at the conference. I’d like to thank all the presenters for doing an amazing job, and of course, special thanks to Illinois Northern for hosting an awesome conference. See you in Anaheim in July!
