Informative and clarity are some words that come to mind when I attend the annual National Conference of Bankruptcy Clerks (NCBC). The conference provides a positive setting whereby participants can feel free to speak, share ideas and come up with positive and beneficial suggestions to improve Bankruptcy Court processes, procedures and even employee mindsets. The gathering of all our great minds brainstorming, discussing policies and laws all to better our courts and ourselves is synergistic! This is especially true of the break-out sessions. The sessions promote conversation, looking inside oneself and thinking outside the box. When the conference has concluded and everyone returns to their own parts of the country, I sense there’s a feeling of camaraderie and accomplishment. We return with new ideas and technology concepts to share. We have new vision and rejuvenated energy. These are morale boosters for those that went to the conference and those listening to what occurred at the conference. Many of our ideas and suggestions come into fruition as improved technology, new policies or streamlined procedures. All these things push us towards doing better and being better for our communities. The conference reinforces that anything and everything continues to be possible when we work together. We continue the mindset of the Founding Fathers of strengthening and further defining our courts. As a person fortunate to be living in this country and working for our court system, it is a privilege to be part of NCBC which to me, is in a sense...making HISTORY.
