My name is Carolyn Baker and I am with the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. I am submitting my declaration of candidacy for one of the Board of Governors positions and would love to have your support. I have been with the court for 27 years and have loved every minute of it! I have experience as a case manager, analyst, CM/ECF administrator/supervisor and currently serve as a supervisor of court operations. I have been a member of the NCBC for most of my career and have participated in their mentorship program (which is excellent, by the way!) I’ve been fortunate enough to have attended several of the conferences and it was exciting to personally meet my mentee after months of telephone conversations. We remain in contact with each other and I am thankful for the opportunity NCBC provided in making this possible. I am our NCBC local court representative and enjoy membership appreciation week and seeing court staff actively participate in the activities offered. What a great way to express appreciation!
I appreciate the NCBC and their continued advocacy on our behalf. I feel that my experience with court operations and CM/ECF provides me with a well-rounded background that could prove useful as a board member. I find that I still learn something new every day, am never bored and remain continually challenged. It would be a privilege to serve and in addition to operational knowledge, I would bring creativity and enthusiasm to the table. Working with the United States court system is an honor and it would be an honor to serve on the NCBC Board of Governors as well.
Thank you for your consideration!
