Greetings from Indiana Southern/Indianapolis Division: My name is Marcella R. Lockert and I hold a position of Courtroom Deputy. At this time I would like to announce my candidacy for the NCBC Board of Governors. This year will mark my 15-year anniversary with the federal courts. I remember that first day as if it was yesterday. As civil servants, longevity is the common thread we all share.
I became a member of NCBC in 2007 and was afforded the opportunity to attend the conference in Seattle, Washington that same year. That entire experience, from the speakers to the attendees, left a lasting impression on me. Attendance at subsequent NCBC conferences only reinforced my strongly favorable impression of the organization, and generated this desire to now be of service to the group.
In 2011, my clerk of court invited me to co-chair the local planning committee of the Operations Forum. I was elated to become part of the hosting team. Indiana Southern had one main objective; our job was to ensure our fellow federal friends had a memorable time while visiting our beautiful city. And we did just that!
Currently, I am enrolled in the Michigan State Judicial Administration Program, and I’m on track for graduation this summer. Additionally, as a member of several committees within our office (Courtroom Deputies Group / Court Operations Group / Court Operations Support / Employees Recognition Program and Combined Federal Campaign), I have a broader perspective on all the moving parts that must work together for any Clerk's office to be successful.
I am a strong team player with the ability to inspire collaboration and respect. Also, I am organized, fair, dependable and responsible. All of these strengths make me the ideal candidate.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and vote for the Board of Governors position!
