We hope everyone is doing well during these crazy times we are living in. The NCBC is the success that it is due to our members. We are a diverse group of federal employees who are extraordinary in our service to the public and willingness to be there for each other. Thank you for your participation in our Membership Appreciation activities! Sadly, we did not get together for the annual conference this year, but we have great anticipation for the 2021 conference in Boston.
The NCBC Membership Drive was the week of January 27, 2020. Thank you to all the Circuit Liaisons and Local Representatives who helped coordinate the membership drives at their courts!
Current Membership Numbers:
• Clerks of Court – 57 (1 new Clerk of Court member this year)
• Emeritus Members – 11 (1 new Emeritus Member this year)
• General Deputy Clerks – 1,162 (85 new General Deputy Clerks members this year)
• Total — 1,230 members
The NCBC Membership Appreciation Week was the week of February 24. A special thank you to Joe Markley, the NCBC Webmaster. Joe was instrumental in automating the contests this year and he also wrote a program to randomize the selection of the daily contest winners from all correct responses. Thanks also go to Eileen Garrity and Rosette Montes-Hempler for their help with Membership Appreciation Week. The contest winners were notified and sent their gift cards at the end of June.
Daily Contest Winners:
• Scavenger Hunt — Nancy Wood (KYEB)
• Crossword Puzzle – Peter Baltz (LAWB)
• Word Scramble – Matthew McGee (AKB)
• Trivia – Tracy Estrada (CACB)
All active members will receive a lapel pin celebrating the 40-year anniversary of the NCBC. Once the lapel pins are received, they will be shipped to the Local Representatives for distribution.
