Our membership drive kicked off on January 27. I hope you renewed your membership and encouraged co-workers, who might not be members, to join. If you haven’t done so, there is still time, as Friday, February 7, is the cut-off date to become eligible to partake in our annual Membership Appreciation Week activities during the week of February 24.
We will vote for a new President-Elect during this year’s election cycle. Also, there will be two Board positions and the Treasurer position available at the close of this year’s conference. Please see Shannon Morris’s article in this edition of the IMPACT for more details.
The NCBC Board met in Anaheim on Sunday, January 12, to hold our annual mid-year board meeting. We also visited with Kathy Campbell, Clerk of Court for the Central District of California Bankruptcy Court and her conference planning staff of Meredith Klassen (project manager), Ben Varela, Otoniel Gonsales, Monica Yepes, Sandy Mohammad, and Estella Chavarin, to discuss their planning efforts. We toured the conference hotel and continued planning the conference. Mark your calendars to attend this year’s conference, which will be held from July 6 – 9.
The NCBC Board and Staff as well as the host court staff have been working hard to ensure this year’s conference is, again, a success. Registration will occur in early April.
The Education Committee, chaired by Dr. Khadijia White-Thomas and Eileen Garrity, has been working with the committee members and staff from the Central District of California to come up with exceptional educational opportunities for this year’s conference.
NCBC wouldn’t be where it is today without the ongoing support of its members! I encourage you to share your ideas and opinions with me or any member of the Board.
